CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TEACHER'S OF ST.XAVIER'S :
- All teachers are expected to behave and dress like respectable ladies/gentlemen in and out of school, as befits the stature of St.Xavier's.
- Teachers are not to reveal any information pertaining to students to anyone outside the school, nor reveal marks except through normal process, nor engage in rumours of any kind especially in what belittles the school and colleagues.
- Teachers are discouraged from accepting any gifts or service by virtue of being a teacher at St.Xavier's which may be interpreted otherwise, except after informing the Principal. No monetary transactions with the students or on behalf of the school without Principal's permission are allowed.
- Teachers are not to entertain students or parents at their residence for official purposes.
- St.Xavier's teachers are totally discouraged from taking TUITIONS for our students for monetary or voluntary purposes. It is assumed that teachers need rest and need to prepare for classes.
- St.Xavier's being SMOKING FREE, no teacher is allowed to smoke in the campus nor come to school with other intoxicants.
- Teachers are to report to school 10 minutes before the school assembly and sign the attendance and leave school after they have signed the register.
- All teachers are responsible for the discipline of the school, and in particular when they are assigned as TOD (Teacher on duty) during, assembly, lunch break and recess.
- All teachers are expected to be present for all school functions and to see that proper discipline is maintained.
- The staff room is a zone of silence, marked out for correction and preperation of classes. Recreation is only during the official recess for all. All things used by teachers in carrying out their duty should be returned properly.
- Mobiles may be used only during breaks and definitely not in the class rooms or during work hours.
- Teachers are to be very vigilant during exams, collect and count the papers properly, correct the papers and mark scrupulously and follow the rules laid out for tabulation and recording without mistakes.
